Data Bridge sits between Exact Online and the systems you build. An organization administrator connects Exact Online once; your code then calls the gateway with its own, narrowly scoped credentials.

Quickstart

1. Sign up at https://mvdw-software.com/exact/portal, verify your email and turn on two-factor authentication (Security). Administrators need it.
2. Connect Exact Online in the portal (menu Exact Online) and enable the administrations the apps may use; subscribe to Data Bridge (menu Subscriptions).
3. Create an API key in Data Bridge (menu API keys): pick a preset or tick exactly which data types and actions the key may use, optionally limited to administrations and IP addresses. Copy the key — it is shown once.
4. Call the API:

Keys start with exg_live_ so secret scanners recognize them. Treat them like passwords: keep them out of source code and rotate them by creating a new key and revoking the old one.
